So these are all new stories? Aside from Gaiman's Wordsworth, it seems so! - Scarecrow -------------------- "Liberate tutemet ex inferis"

This is exactly what the franchise needs. After years of low-budget DTV films that didn't get the full support they needed (even if some, like Deader, are actually quite good), a remake that keeps getting put into capable hands then snatched away as soon as they're announced and a novel, the Scarlet Gospels, which is being put on the back burner for now (though I completely understand Clive's reasons for it, if this is better for his mental state and the final product, good), we finally have the franchise return in style with the respect and reverence it deserves.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine we'd get a Hellraiser prose anthology by such literary heavyweights. Pete Atkins, author of three of the films (including the amazing Hellbound), two Cenobites, Nicholas Vince and Barbie Wilde, Sandman's Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean (as I haven't read Wordsworth, it's brand new to me!), Hellboy writers Christopher Golden and Mike Mignola, 30 Days of Night's Steve Niles, "Master of Horror" Mick Garris, Mark Morris, who wrote an awesome novel called Forever Autumn, Kelley Armstrong, who I've heard very good things about; the list goes on and on... Non-fiction by Clive (cover too!) and Doug is icing on the cake! I'm a sucker for anthologies by different authors in the same mythos. I think it's wonderful how you can give a group of people one subject material and just watch them each do extraordinary yet completely unique and different things with it! And to do it with Hellraiser and with such a great group... I absolutely cannot wait. |

Some stunning news... Stunning indeed! Thanks for the info, Scarecrow. Paul Kane impressed me with his methodical arrangement of The Hellraiser Films And Their Legacy. We are all in for a treat this fall. -------------------- "My work is wrongly construed as fiction by the lesser minded. In fact, I take great pride in presenting fictional possibilities. Did a search for Marie O'Regan. I was interested in seeing what past works she had done... turns out to be Paul Kane's talented Wife, who has quite a catalog of published written material. Here is a link to the news page of her website which shares the same press release.

Great little video. Maybe Barbie would consider reading an extract of her story once it's published. - Scarecrow -------------------- "Liberate tutemet ex inferis"

Wow, sounds damn good to me! Will definitely be picking up a copy of this. Tell you what, that Wordsworth story sounds good Less than two weeks now. I'm hoping it might come earlier as soem pre-orders tend to do that from past experience. Holding off on reading any fiction until then, just text books, although I may give The Hellound Heart another look in the run up. - Scarecrow -------------------- "Liberate tutemet ex inferis"
