The Damned Rogue
Written by Gavin "xt4" Art by Berty-J-A Cover by Berty-J-A Pin-Up by Berty-J-A Online Version: http://www.cenobite.com/hellbound/hbc006/hbc006cover.htm Archive with PDF Version: http://www.cenobite.com/hellbound/archive.htm Rate and discuss the sixth issue of the Hellbound Chronicles. We'd love for you to leave feedback, not just a vote, let us know what you want to see, where you want the series to go, where you think the art and writing can improve. I think Berty's art is what makes this issue for me. It's a very simple story (but with plenty of room for further development - Scarecrow -------------------- "Liberate tutemet ex inferis"

Read it. Loved it!
Really, this was great. I enjoyed the story and especially the reveal that the girl had once been a Cenobite. I had expected her to be a victim, but that was brilliant. Her thoughts to herself about trying to be normal and to fit is such a normal thing anyway for a teenager anyway that it mirrored the situation nicely. Love the art!! Had a feel of modern woodcuts to me and had a nice sense of speed to it. I liked the use of a limited, three colour pallete too. Yes, very nice all round. Well done! -------------------- "The Demiurge defies description. It is a godlike being, or beinglike god...it seems to infect reality, while bringing the mere 'mundane' to a higher level of power. The Demiurge is not a thing, it is everything that will be when all limits are removed."

Great stuff! "Excellent" is my vote.

good story, i like it a lot. could have been much longer for me, this one was strong enough to be a published graphic novel.
the artwork, even tho i liked it a lot, i feel it didn't suit the story. it was too 'phresh'. do you get me? too tattoo/graffiti art. don't get me wrong, it was fantastic artwork, very well drawn and amazing results. But i would have liked a darker, more gloomy artstyle for this story. i sound like i dont like it, i LOVE it, please try to understand this. its hard to explain in text on a forum, without sounding critical. -------------------- ![]() |

Nice work, I really enjoyed the art style. I dig that sort of thick lined, cartoony stuff.

yeah i do too, i really like it. and i still don't know how to explain my previous post. i DO love the artstyle a great deal, this is fantastically drawn, i just think that a darker, more graphic style would have suited the story perhaps?

I liked it, really unspected style for a Hellraiser comic, but I like the result.
I think the variety of styles makes this project richier in art (and the stories are excellent too). An ex-cenobite? haha good take on the myths. DÆMON |

That's fair enough, I understand. Personally, i think the more action-based aspects worked to the style, i thought it really gave the comic an energy it might noit otherwise have had. - Scarecrow -------------------- "Liberate tutemet ex inferis"

I really enjoyed both the story and the artwork was awesome, although I would have liked to have seen more flashback scenes from the time she was a cenobite...after the "Big Reveal" of course.
I really hope to see more by both artist and writer in the future. -------------------- "Du kannst, Du willst und wirst nie vergeben

An escaped Cenobite doing the Harrowers job? Love it!
And the artist seems to be a little inspired by Mike Mignola |

I really liked this one. It is a bit strange for me because action really isn't my thing. I don't know, I guess I was just fascinated by her. She had kind of a cute face and hair style. I would be very interested in finding out more about her history as a cenobite.

After reading through Bindings I was compelled to read this story again. I just had a thought about the first page.
In the second panel when Lisa/Hush is fingering her piercings she seems to be smiling. Is she causing pain for herself for enjoyment? I guess her cenobitical nature is not so easy to shrug off. |

Glad you noted that point. It's one of my favourite panels of that story for that very reason. Gives Lisa a little menace too. - Scarecrow -------------------- "Liberate tutemet ex inferis"

I like the story, it's fresh and original, like the style it's drawn in.
Although the artwork isn't really the style I would prefer, it doesen't bring down the story and is well executed |
