V.1.0 Released
Version 1.0 is now available on the downloads page, unfortunatly its not a "real" update but a re-issue of 0.9 with a couple of bug fixes. Its been over a year since the last version was released and as many of you may have noticed the homepage is back up displaying the updates.
You may also like to know that the scoreboard is now working again (although we lost a few hundred scores), this is working both in game and on the website. Bonus level 2 was currently unplayable on version 0.9 due to a bug but that has now been fixed, view the changelog to see other fixes.
I would also like to thank everyone that has supported the TMNT Engine. We have had over 30,000 downloads over the past few years and its all thanks to you. Which is why the site and engine needed sorting out and fixing as your support deserved it.
I still don't know what the future holds for TMNT Engine, will it be finished? Will there be an open source version? The answer is, I don't know. But your continued support as helped it get this far. Thank You!.

V.0.9 download update
That annoying bug on level 2 where the screen scrolls the wrong way after going diagonal has been most frequent in version 0.9. After receiving many bug reports about this I have tweeked it alittle and I have currently not seen this bug occur again so far.
Version 0.9 has been re-uploaded with this fixed and for those who don’t want to download the 20MB size there is also a 6MB patch available on the downloads page. Simply download the patch and overwrite the current v.0.9 exe with the one included in the patch zip.
Another minor adjustments have also been made to the newly updated v.0.9 (and patch) which is now the highway level where a bug would occur before where Leonardo would jump in the air at the end, but it wouldnt goto the next frame, this has been fixed.
Also, great to see everyone submitting their scores, we have nearly hit 100 scores so far, keep it up.

DevLog #9
Losing all your health now makes you lose a life.. losing all lives resorts in Game Over!
From the levels select screen you will be granted 9 lives, but once they are gone, thats it. This makes the online scoreboard alittle more fair as if you start from the first level and do well, odds are you will have a higher score. Start from a later level you will of course have a lower score (depending on how you do of course).

Version 0.9 is set for release in february.

DevLog #8
Another great feature of the online scoreboard is that the top player will have his/her name displayed along with their score within the game itself for everyone to see.

DevLog #7
Great news TMNT Engine fans,
The next release of TMNT Engine (Version 0.9) will include an online hi-score table.
You will be able to see the top 10 players on the hi-score table in-game and see the complete list online right here.
Here is a sneak peak..

Of course, Leonardo is still currently the only playable character, but you get the picture.

DevLog #6
Well, level 5 (the highway) is pretty much done, just a few tweeks here and there. The skateboard level is currently being worked on and i’ve got the factory level pieced together ready for content so as you can imagine i’ve been pretty busy.
Aside from that i’ve been fixing a few bugs (thanks again for the bug reports), one of the better additions to the engine is Leonardo can now do his special attack (pressing attack & jump together). It doesn’t work as an instant kill just yet, but it does knock the enemies off their feet.

DevLog #5
Version 0.8 has had a record amount of downloads since it was released and I’ve had some great feedback about it. With 0.8 released I quickly started work on version 0.9, and I must say I am a fast worker.

Major Bug Removed
A big thanks to Pixelthief who figured out a way to fix the scrolling issue caused by two enemies killed at the same time.
This has been a problem since scrolling was first implemented into the TMNT Engine.
The bug key still remains in the engine on the off chance that a problem occurres.
If you have downloaded version 0.8 on the 13th then I suggest you re-download it.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

DevLog #4
Another new feature of version 0.8 is what i’ve called The Dojo. Its bassically a test feild in which the player can click the icons of corresponding enemies/bosses to spawn them on screen and beat the hell out of them.
The reason behind this is a way to playtest the engine without having to go through the levels, thus being able to study the enemies attack and movement patterns, check the collision detection etc.
I may also introduce a feature to spawn the many props you can use to your advantage i.e parking metres and explosive oil drums.
Below are some pictures.

DevLog #3
Today i’m posting a picture of a new bonus level exclusive to the TMNT Engine.
It's all well and good releasing TMNT Engine but without new content for alot of people there is no motivation to download.
So this is the second bonus level, this time it uses “Knights Of The Round” backgrounds.

DevLog #1
Well I said this would be a source of updates related to the TMNT Engine so this is the first DevLog entry.
Progress hasn’t stopped since the release of 0.7 and 0.8 is already on the way and work has begun on the next level.
A new feature available in version 0.8 will be scanlines, but what are they you ask? well here is a picture.

As you can see, the first picture includes scanlines while the second doesn’t.
Scanlines, you either love them or hate them, I personally love them as they give me the retro style feel and look as an arcade machines does. Infact my TMNT arcade machine has them and due to it using an old style 32″ monitor i’m glad it does as it breaks up the pixels making it look smoother. Of course now we have anti-alias but it just isn’t the same.
This feature unlike with arcade machines can be toggled on and off from the title screen.

TMNT Engine V.0.7
Hello, and welcome to the brand new website design for TMNT Engine.
Aside from the new look for the new year the latest version of TMNT Engine is now available and is one of the biggest updates yet, now letting you play 4 levels (1 of which is an exclusive brand new level designed just for the engine), download version 0.7 over on the downloads page.
So what else is new about the site, well I plan on updating more frequently and using it as a DevLog so people can get a sneak preview into what i’m currently working on aswell as being able to leave comments (please do, I love reading them).
Reporting a bug has been made much easier via the bug page which now has a simple form aswell as lists current bugs, glitches and missing content.
So please have a look around, download version 0.7 and post some comments via these update blogs.
